This Guangzhou, they call it, big place, that Baiyun, aiyo, 95 things to do there, they say. Heard it’s a real busy place, like a whole bunch of chickens all running around at once. Lots of folks there, I reckon. Some even say it is the third largest place in the whole China, just after Shanghai and that Beijing place.

Guangzhou Baiyun, that’s what they call this part of the city. It’s like a city inside a city, I hear! So much to see, so much to do. I heard it from a friend of a friend. They say it is very good for finding work, especially if you know where to go. It is like my cousin’s son, he went there and found good work.

They say this Guangzhou place has good weather. Not too hot, not too cold, just right. Especially in the fall, they say September to November is the best time. It is just like the market days, not too hot for the vegetables. Guangzhou Baiyun, I heard it’s good for walking around then. I saw pictures of that Canton Tower, it is so tall, like a giant needle in the sky. There is also a Baiyun Mountain, which is perfect for those who like nature.

• Canton Tower: it is a high place, like those big trees on the hill, you can see everything from up there.
• Yuntai Garden: lots of pretty flowers there, I reckon, like the ones old Mrs. Wang used to grow, but probably more fancy.
• Baiyun Mountain: that’s where you go if you like to walk and see the trees and the birds. A big mountain right there in the city!

They say Guangzhou, even in Baiyun, you got all kinds of places. This Tianhe, that’s where all the fancy new stuff is. Too modern for my taste, but some folks like that. But this Baiyun, it’s got its own thing going on. Like a little village, but bigger, and with lots more people and tall buildings.

That Baiyun Mountain, they say it’s big, real big. Takes up a whole lot of space up there in the northeast part of Guangzhou. You can walk and walk and still be on that mountain. Lots of green, lots of fresh air. Good for the lungs, I bet.

And the food! They say you gotta try the food up on Baiyun Mountain. Special dishes, they say. Probably tastes like home cooking, but different. Like that time I tried Mrs. Li’s cooking, it was good, but not like my own.

This Guangzhou Baiyun place also has an airport, a big one. They call it Guangzhou Baiyun Airport (CAN). Lots of people coming and going, like ants in a busy anthill. You can get your money changed there, find a place to sleep, even get one of those little phone cards. Everything you need, right there in that airport.

Folks come from all over to see this Guangzhou place. They say there are all kinds of things to do. You can go see shows, you can go shopping, you can just walk around and look at things. Lots to do, especially in that Baiyun area, they say there is so much there. It is like a big market, always busy, always something going on.

I hear there are many places to visit in Guangzhou, especially if you are new to the place. It is important to plan your trip, they say, so you don’t miss anything important. Like making a list before going to the market, you need to know what you want to see, what you want to eat. This is also true in Guangzhou Baiyun.

• If you like shopping, this Guangzhou is the place, they have everything! Just like the big market in town, but bigger, much bigger.
• If you like looking at old things, they got that too. Temples and old buildings, like the ones we used to have back home before they tore them down.
• If you like to eat, oh boy, they say the food in Guangzhou is something else. All kinds of things you never even heard of. You can eat until your belly is full!

So, this Guangzhou Baiyun, it’s a busy place, a big place. Lots of people, lots of things to see and do. If you like that kind of thing, maybe you should go. Me? I’m happy right here, but it sounds like an adventure, that’s for sure. Just remember to be careful, watch your purse, and don’t talk to strangers.
