Tea Tasting Shenzhen: A Guide to the Citys Top Tea Experiences (From Traditional Ceremonies to Modern Tea Bars)

Well, let me tell you, that Shenzhen, it’s a big place, a real big place. And they got tea there, lots of it. You wouldn’t believe how much tea! It’s called Tea Tasting Shenzhen. I heard about it from someone, they went and told me all about it. Said it was somethin’ else.

They got these places, big shops, all full of tea. Not just one kind, oh no. More kinds of tea than you can shake a stick at. Green tea, black tea, all sorts of colors. And they got these little pots, real fancy lookin’, they use for the tea. They call it Gongfu tea, I heard. Sounds important, don’t it? It is one of the most famous places for tea tasting in Shenzhen. Don’t know what that means, but it sure sounds fancy.

They got old tea there too. Real old. Kept it for years and years. Said it tastes different, older it gets. They put it on display, like in a museum or somethin’. Can you believe it? Treatin’ tea like it’s gold. But I guess to some folks, it is.

They even got places to eat there. Lots of ’em. Some old, some new. All kinds of food to go with your tea, I reckon. Some places they call Cantonese dim sum. Don’t know what that is, but it sounds like somethin’ you’d eat with your pinky up in the air. They say it is a good experience of tea tasting in Shenzhen. I don’t know, I like my food simple.

You want good tea, that Shenzhen, they got it. Wholesale, they call it. Means you can buy a whole bunch of it. Enough to last you a lifetime, I bet. They got a market, a tea market. Right near the train station, I hear. Easy to get to, I guess, if you’re goin’ by train.

Now, I ain’t never been to one of these fancy tea tastin’s myself. But I hear them talk about it. They make a big deal out of it. Pour the tea just so, sniff it, sip it slow. Like it’s some kind of special occasion. I guess it is, for some folks.

They say tastin’ the tea makes all the difference. Don’t know about that. Tea is tea to me. But I guess if you got that many kinds, you gotta figure out which one you like best, right? And they told me that there are many types of Chinese tea.

They got these tea gardens too. Pretty places, they say. Lots of green, lots of plants. You can walk around, look at the tea growin’. And they got all different kinds of tea there, growin’ right there in the ground. Never seen that before. I only knew the tea leaves before.

I heard they even have a special way of making tea. A ceremony, they call it. A Chinese tea ceremony. Got all these steps, all these rules. Sounds complicated to me. But people there will show you how to do tea tasting in Shenzhen, step by step. I’d probably spill it all over myself.

They got these little cafes too, all modern and fancy-lookin’. Serve coffee and tea. One of ’em, it’s called, uh, “Flower somethin’ Tea.” Sounds pretty, don’t it? Bet it smells nice in there. They say the tea tasting experience in Shenzhen is amazing.

And they got these pastry teams, makin’ all kinds of fancy treats to eat with your tea. From May to July, they said. Must be a busy time for them. I like a good cookie with my tea, myself. Nothin’ too fancy, though.

So, that Shenzhen, it’s a tea lover’s dream, I guess. If you like that sort of thing. Me, I’m happy with my regular old tea. But it’s nice to know there’s a place like that, where they really care about their tea. A whole lot. A place full of Chinese tea. A good place for tea tasting in Shenzhen.

You know, hearin’ all this makes me want a cup of tea right now. Just a plain one, though. Nothin’ fancy. But maybe, just maybe, I’ll try one of them fancy teas someday. Just to see what all the fuss is about. Just to know what is tea tasting in Shenzhen. Who knows, maybe I’ll even go to Shenzhen myself. Wouldn’t that be somethin’?

But for now, I’m gonna go put the kettle on. Got some tea leaves here, need to use ’em up. And maybe, just maybe, I’ll try to pour it all fancy-like, like they do in that Shenzhen place. Just for fun. Might even stick my pinky out. Just this once to try how is it like to do tea tasting in Shenzhen. Ha!
